Back pain is a complex problem, and there is no simple answer to the question “What causes back pain?”
One of the reasons that it is difficult to determine the causes of back pain, that there are many structures that can be injured in the lower back (lumbar) region. You can injure the muscles, ligaments, intervene tebral discs, nerve roots, the cartilage that lines the joints, bones in the lower back, or even the spinal cord. And of course you can violate several structures in the lumbar area.
